Interactive Seminar: Building a Culture to Motivate and Inspire Creative Teams

Interactive Seminar: Building a Culture to Motivate and Inspire Creative Teams

July 31st
1:00 to 2:00 PM ET
Online

As leaders and managers of creative organizations, it is our responsibility to create a culture that enables individuals to explore innovative ideas in their work and build an environment where teams can flourish. We need to help employees find meaning and interest in their work and design an environment that encourages sharing and inspiration for ideas.

Please join Michael Hawley, Will Powley, and Buck Beaudoin as they discuss the growth of the creative culture at Mad*Pow, detailing lessons they've learned along the way. They will cover some of the specific activities they've tried – from the design of our space, to team building activities, to management guidelines, and goal setting. They'll also dive deep into Mad*Pow's recent company-wide Design Slam event – a team building design activity that gave Mad*Powers the opportunity to collaborate with folks they don’t normally work with, and spend their energy on interesting design problems with few constraints.

If you couldn't make it, check out our Vimeo channel for the full webinar.

  • The Legend of Miyamoto: How Nintendo Shaped UX
Perhaps the greatest innovation Miyamoto brought to the gaming industry—and by extension, the web—was the popularization of a narrative structure. This may seem pretty silly to think about now—not unlike thinking that the mouse or GUI wasn’t a big deal—but it was pretty revolutionary for its time.
