Enormous touchscreen prototype reflects the future of green building.
Autodesk is the leading vendor of engineering design applications such as Auto CAD. They were looking for designers to help bring a vision of a future version of their product to life, and wanted teammates who understood interaction design and usability in addition to visual design. Their goal was to create a vision prototype that would inspire their professional community by demonstrating the potential to build sustainable elements into the building design process. We were able to leverage a 4’x8’ touchscreen interface to reflect the future of green building.
The team engaged in brainstorming, concepting and ideation sessions, documenting storyboards for key flows in the vision prototype. Once the conceptual designs were crafted, we presented a range of visual design options and generated flash and multi-media production. We worked with product designers and marketing executives, collaborating seamlessly to offer different perspectives and present new ideas while staying true to their overall vision and goal.
The Prototype was unveiled at a large conference of industry and political leaders, including President Bill Clinton, who delivered the keynote address. The prototype was such a success that industry leaders at the conference were asking when the actual product would be available.
