Cleveland Clinic
The Cleveland Clinic is a multispecialty academic medical center, integrating clinical and hospital care with research and education. This nonprofit, is home to 2000 physicians and scientists, treating over 4.2 million patients per year. The Cleveland Clinic approached Mad*Pow to improve the inactive lifestyle plaguing Cleveland, Ohio.

We created a mobile App created for iPhone and Android users called “Let’s Move it!” to motivate and spread health awareness to residents of Cleveland.

The App includes features such as activity monitoring and diet information, while promoting Cleveland Clinic’s brand. In addition, users can view lifestyle choices and receive weekly health tips supplied by the Cleveland Clinic. There is even a group option that let’s you participate in team health challenges.

We worked closely with Cleveland Clinic’s sports marketing department, executives and technical teams, for specialized input. We also extensively researched the Mobile Apps market for similar programs. By analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, we were able to model a differentiated approach to Apps such as iPhone Pedometers and activity analyzers.

Cleveland Clinic’s “Let’s Move it!” App has become a convincing addition to users’ daily habits by providing calorie counters for daily activities, relevant health tips and engaging friendly team challenges.  This App has also become a powerful cross channel marketing initiative, utilizing television, scoreboard and in game promotions during Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers’ games.

In addition to creating this beneficial App, our founder and chief experience officer, Amy Cueva will be co presenting with Cleveland Clinic’s executive director of marketing communications Cynthia Galbincea at The 6th Annual World Healthcare Innovation and Technology Congress in Washington D.C. this November. We will discuss the critical role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in a successful consumer engagement strategy.
