Variety.com Redesign

Innovative online experience doubled Variety.com site visitor subscriptions

Variety is the go-to publication for the Hollywood movie making biz.  They engaged us for this venture because the project lead had a positive experience working with us at a previous company.  They were looking to bring the site up to date so that it adhered to sweeping changes made to the internal organization which had not yet been translated to the outside world.  To achieve these business goals we went full court press with an experience design strategy, including a review of existing research, social media direction, user task flows, navigation overhaul, and imaginative visual direction.

Much thought went into the delivery of the content, in order to provide the most value to their readers and advertisers. This project was a successful collaboration between our Experience Designers, Visual Designers and a very large client team consisting of C-Level executives, brand managers, developers, editorial staff and office staff.   It was a major change, and it exceeded the expectations of the executive team by driving up subscriptions from 11% of site visitors to 20%.  Their reaction was nothing short of overjoyed.
